What the church is

Who we are

• A young church in this beautiful city, San Carlos de Bariloche, Rio Negro province, Argentina, who have been serving the Lord Jesus here since 1998 when we became an autonomous church.
  
  
• We have a very varied group of members with some born here, also those who come from other provinces within Argentina as well as from Chile and other countries in the world.
  
  
• We have regular meetings on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays, as well as cell groups called G.O.ES (Study and Prayer groups) who meet in different places at different times, almost every day of the week.
  
  
• The christian education based on the Bible occupies a very important place in the church, and so we have a Sunday Bible School divided in classes for all ages, from creche to adults.
  
  
• We have a strong focus on children's work, and offer what we call Children's Encounter on Saturdays, once a month.
  
  
• The entire family finds its place in the church with meetings for children, adolescents and young people, women, men a couples, as well as family camps.
  
  
• We place great importance on community actions and companionship, for which we have strong groups of members who are committed to these ministries.
  
  
• Worship has a very important place in our church, this ministry is formed with people of all ages, with two regular weekly rehearsals, with the aim of praising the Lord with order and with jubilation, using keyboards, electric and acoustic guitars, drums, bass, tambourine and various voices that guide the congregation.
  
  
• As a church, we beleive in the commandment of taking the gospel to all nations, therefore we work with mission work and specifically with Project Angola in Luena, Africa.
  
  
• Some special activities include Easter and Christmas, with active participation from the church's theatre group.
  
  
• It's important to mention that we have a leadership which works in an active way in all the ministries of the church alongside and co-ordinated by the pastor Juan Carlos Wlasiuk.
  
  
• Finally, we want to make it clear that the most important and only porpouse of all this is the Evangelisation of our city.

The mission of Melipal Baptist Church

The Lord God has created and called Melipal Baptist Church principally to preach the gospel of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ to our area and city. It is for this mission that the church provides a complete programme which includes the five ministries of the church of the Acts of the Apostles: Worship, Christian Education, Companionship, Community Action and Evangelism and Mission.

Our only guide

We beleive and accept the Bible as our only rule of faith and practice, as the Holy word of God written by men of God, chosen and inspired by the Holy Spirit, therefore with the help of the Lord we make the biggest effort within our capacity and abilities, to teach it to man and put it into practice in our personal and daily life.

What we beleive

• We beleive that God loves us and that He has provided a plan so that we can enjoy this love.(John 3:16John 3:16

• We beleive that we have all sinned and this has separated us from the presence of God, therefore we are all lost without God. (Romans 3:23Romans 3:23

• We beleive that the result of our sin is eternal death, but God gives us a way of salvation through Christ Jesus. (Romans 6:23Romans 6:23
  Porque la paga del pecado es muerte, mas la dádiva de Dios es vida eterna en Cristo Jesús Señor nuestro. ).
  
  
• We beleive that through the perfect sacrifice of Christ and His death on the cross of calvary, He gives us eternal salvation.(Ephesians 2:8-9 Ephesians 2:8-9
  Porque por gracia sois salvos por medio de la fe; y esto no de vosotros, pues es don de Dios; no por obras, para que nadie se gloríe.).
  
  
• We beleive that everybody who has accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour should confess their faith publicly.(Romans 10:9-10 Romans 10:9-10
  que si confesares con tu boca que Jesús es el Señor, y creyeres en tu corazón que Dios le levantó de los muertos, serás salvo. Porque con el corazón se cree para justicia, pero con la boca se confiesa para salvación. ).
  
  
• We beleive that baptism by inmersion, as testimony of a new life, is what the New Testament teaches and which is the doorway to membership in the local chrch, and this is what we practice and teach people.(Romans 6:1-6 Romans 6:1-6
  ¿Qué, pues, diremos? ¿Perseveraremos en el pecado para que la gracia abunde? En ninguna manera. Porque los que hemos muerto al pecado, ¿cómo viviremos aún en él? ¿O no sabéis que todos los que hemos sido bautizados en Cristo Jesús, hemos sido bautizados en su muerte? Porque somos sepultados juntamente con él para muerte por el bautismo, a fin de que como Cristo resucitó de los muertos por la gloria del Padre, así también nosotros andemos en vida nueva. • We beleive that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Thar He is the Second person in the trinity, born by the power of the Holy Spirit through Mary, a virgin woman. That He lived a sinless life, He was crucified for our sins but triumphantly rose from the grave through resurrection. That He ascended to heaven where He is, at the right hand of God, and now He interceeds for us before the Father, but one day He will come back again to rescue and take His church, that is to say all who have beleived in Him, have given Him our lives and confess Him as our Lord and Saviour.
  
  
• We beleive that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. That He is divine in His essence and that he guides all those who beleive in the truth. That he is who convinces man of his sin, of justice and judgement. That he lives in each beleiver, giving the stamp of belonging to God, and he is who has a sanctified function in each believer for whom he also interceeds before Father God. And that he produces fruit in each one of us.

What the church is

A lot of people think that the church is or should be a social club where people can spend some time replacing their solitude or boredom, others can think that the church is a place which gives help to the needy and even some people may think that it is a place of conceited peolple who think that they are better than the rest. Another common mistake is to confuse the church with the physical building.
What the Bible really says about what Lord's church is, is very different. The Bible says that the Church is a group of people reached by the call of God to repent, sinners who have been forgiven of their sins, saved and called to live a new and better life, in short, a different way of life with Jesus.
God want to use the Church to announce to people that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life, and that no one can be saved by being good or by making big efforts. The only way to be saved is through faith in Jesus as the Lord and unique Saviour.
Jesus Christ is the founder of the Church, He is the Lord, the master and head of the Church, no one else can claim these attributes. The church that has Christ in it's heart knows that without Him it is nothing, it cannot serve, can't have peace, that we are incomplete and can't improve our own situation or anyone else's.
That's why Melipal Baptist Church feels that it has been called to announce to Bariloche and to all nations the hope of a new life, a life worth living, a life based in Jesus Christ, the only one that opens us the way for a correct relationship with the God of Love.
